EHL is committed to preserving our limited resources here on earth and dedicated to finding ways to incorporate green ideas into our workplace.
Although we are not able to incorporate ALL these ideas ALL the time, we are striving to utilize them as often as possible!
Paperless data storage – our paper gets scanned and filed in our computer servers
Paper usually reviewed on screen instead of printed out
Emails preferred instead of paper letters
Curbside recycling at our office
Water dispenser vs. bottles when possible
Most computers are shut down at the end of the day; if computer is left on, the monitor is shut off (we are working on this one!)
The shredding company we use recycles the paper
We buy supplies in bulk to reduce packaging
We recycle printing cartridges and buy recycled ones when possible
Recycling bins at every desk
Printers are set for “Sleep Mode” when not in use
More paperclips, less staples
More paperless marketing (emails) versus paper
Virtual business meetings (computer/telephone) when possible
Recycle our batteries
Our website host uses 100% wind power
Our newsletter is available electronically - sign up to receive it here.
Carpool to meetings
Turn off non-essential office lights every night
We realize there are more ways to Go Green and we are always looking for examples of what other people and companies have done. If you have a suggestion, please email our Business Development Coordinator (and resident greenie) Heidi Dearinger.
