Green

"We came to EHL from an insurance company that did little more than issue an annual Certificate of Liability. EHL makes us feel like we have now entrusted our business with an organization which looks out for our best interests ahead of your own."

— Rhonda Rotsten,
Terhune Custom Homes

EHL is committed to preserving our limited resources here on earth and dedicated to finding ways to incorporate green ideas into our workplace.

Although we are not able to incorporate ALL these ideas ALL the time, we are striving to utilize them as often as possible!

bullet Paperless data storage – our paper gets scanned and filed in our computer servers
bullet Paper usually reviewed on screen instead of printed out
bullet Emails preferred instead of paper letters
bullet Curbside recycling at our office
bullet Water dispenser vs. bottles when possible
bullet Most computers are shut down at the end of the day; if computer is left on, the monitor is shut off (we are working on this one!)
bullet The shredding company we use recycles the paper
bullet We buy supplies in bulk to reduce packaging
bullet We recycle printing cartridges and buy recycled ones when possible
bullet Recycling bins at every desk
bullet Printers are set for “Sleep Mode” when not in use
bullet More paperclips, less staples
bullet More paperless marketing (emails) versus paper
bullet Virtual business meetings (computer/telephone) when possible
bullet Recycle our batteries
bullet Our website host uses 100% wind power
bullet Our newsletter is available electronically - sign up to receive it here.
bullet Carpool to meetings
bullet Turn off non-essential office lights every night

We realize there are more ways to Go Green and we are always looking for examples of what other people and companies have done. If you have a suggestion, please email our Business Development Coordinator (and resident greenie) Heidi Dearinger.
