Once again, the principals of Edgren, Hecker, and Lemmon Insurance (EHL) have demonstrated their support of Kitsap County, and the Kitsap Community Foundation with their annual sponsorship and organization of the 2009 Acorn Golf Classic. This year’s event Co-sponsor was the Suquamish Tribe, and Suquamish Foundation. We are very appreciative,” said Pete Atha, executive director for the Kitsap Community Foundation (KCF) to these organizations for the level of commitment they have demonstrated.

The foundation that annually awards grants to worthy Kitsap organizations got a boost itself this week, accepting a $15,642 check from money raised at the EHL Insurance Acorn Golf Classic held at Gold Mountain Golf Course. A special thank you to the many event sponsors, participants, volunteer staff of EHL, and the event planners Rich Hecker, and Heidi Hoke, for their individual contributions to the successful event, and thank you to Wayne George and Leonard Forsman of the Suquamish Tribe!

Established in 1993 as a IRS-certified 501(c)(3), private, non-profit organization, the Kitsap Community Foundation is a flexible, efficient vehicle for local philanthropy. Through investments, the Foundation has awarded nearly $625,000 to charitable organizations and scholarship recipients since 1999. KCF offers a variety of endowed funds that suit the charitable giving goals of its donors and investors. Through the efforts of tireless board members and volunteers, KCF is ensuring that community needs are met for good, forever. Contact the Foundation at kcf@kitsapfoundation.org or 360-698-3622.
